Stringent Measures for Issuing Civil IDs to Expat Bachelors. The Public Authority for Civil Information has recently implemented stricter procedures concerning the issuance or renewal of civil cards for unmarried expatriates, commonly referred to as bachelors. These measures aim to ensure heightened scrutiny in the verification process, particularly regarding rental contracts, which now entail a thorough examination of the owner’s signature.

Collaborating with a dedicated committee, the authority is actively addressing the presence of unmarried individuals in private residential areas. This initiative involves cross-referencing civil cards to verify the accuracy of reported locations, thereby enforcing regulations against bachelors residing in prohibited housing.

 

Khaled Al-Shammari, the official spokesperson for the Public Authority for Civil Information, underscores the strict enforcement of address regulations, explicitly prohibiting the registration of bachelors in private accommodations. Automated systems are deployed to ensure compliance with these restrictions, bolstering the authority’s efforts to maintain residential integrity.

 

Al-Shammari emphasizes the authority’s active participation in a governmental committee dedicated to identifying and preventing bachelor habitation in conventional areas. Through this collaborative effort, complaints are addressed promptly, and on-site verifications are conducted to detect any violations of residency regulations.

 

Since 2021, the Authority has introduced an expatriate data service accessible through its website and the Sahel government application. This innovative service empowers property owners to review expatriate data within their buildings, enabling them to flag inaccuracies and file complaints efficiently. Such measures facilitate necessary modifications to ensure accurate and up-to-date residency information.
